In The Pouring Rain Poem

Listening to the rain fall
Looking, really looking at the sky
Every dark, grey sky above
Forming threateningly slowly
The clouds filling the earth with hope
Pregnant with rain
The soft whisper of lightning
Thunder bolts so dangerous but beautiful
Wind gathering together
Whistling past giving trees reason to bow
Sound of a combination of earth’s forces
Shaking every inch of nature’s beauty
Sort of like our new love
All the senses feeling the rain fall
My whole body part of the wonder
Hearing so intently at only a drop of rain
As it taps at the roof top
Ever so gently to the edge of a leaf on a tree
Seeing it as it slowly forms a small bubble
Taking course down the leaf’s blade
Moving without a care to the tip of the leaf
Touching it as it falls in the palm of my hand
Splattering into a million crystal droplets
Making its way to the soil of the earth
Smelling the sweetness of rain on dry soil
Tasting the earth with a clean deep breath
Makes me want to laugh, cry all at once
A mixture of emotions hovers over me
Realising it’s beautiful when it rains
A ninth wonder yet to be discovered
Everything comes to a stop when it pours
Same as my heart stops
When I see, listen, touch and taste you
It is no longer another grey rainy day
Only a beautiful thought of your love
It is where I want to be
In your arms
In the pouring rain
For it is a time to love
