Retribution in The Night Sky Poem

I have seen the sky black as coal
Smelled sweet jasmine flowers
Never has the sky seemed blacker
Or Jasmine flowers smelled heavenly
Like the first day of a new year with you in mind
Silent vows made to never trust bricks
Laid to hide the heart or tears sworn to be the last have been scattered
Melodies begin to sound warmer
Love songs now make sense
Every heat of the afternoon sun feels like magic
A confession to sin seeks forgiveness
Just like a starved soul seeks retribution
New year new honor
Faith in a heart grants me Grace
Purple vines fight with thorns
Sweetest revenge of a heart is giving in
I have given in
